PJKK Federal Building

Government

One would not expect a 929,857 square foot building constructed in the late 1970’s to be very energy efficient. However, the General Services Administration (GSA), which owns and operates the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianole Federal Building in Honolulu, HI, has performed several energy efficient upgrades since its construction including an Energy Management System installed by SAI. The upgrades enabled the building to earn an ENERGY STAR label for Buildings score of 99 out of 100. This means that the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianole Federal Building and US Courthouse is more energy efficient than 99 percent of the nation’s commercial and governmental buildings.
